Somatic Therapy in Bristol and Burlington, VT

Somatic therapy is particularly beneficial for those who have experienced trauma, hold marginalized identities, who are neurodivergent, experience anxiety or depression, want to reconnect to their bodies, are facing a body-based transition such as gender exploration, pregnancy, or postpartum, and who would like to go deeper than talk therapy and behavioral change.

What somatic modalities do your clinicians practice?

All of our licensed and rostered therapists are certified in Brainspotting Level 1 or above. Twice monthly we gather as a train in somatic trauma transformation theory and practice from MawuLisa Adeyemo-Thomas, a matriarch instructor and somatic practitioner. Our therapists also receive additional training from our practice founder on somatics from a Chinese Medicine lense twice monthly.

In addition, each clinician brings their own skills and experiences with the body, whether that come from a meditation, Internal Family Systems, Embody Lab’s Somatic Trauma Therapy program, music, yoga, Somatic Abolitionism, or ceremonial experience and training.
